Located at the north anchor of the Cultivation Corridor in Ames, Iowa, Ag Leader has been working since 1992 to create quality and satisfaction by developing new agriculture technologies, products and support systems. Ag Leader offers a complete set of products that are specially designed to help farmers plan, plant, apply and harvest more efficiently and profitably. Ag Leader Technology Founder Al Myers was the first to develop an on-the-go yield monitor, helping farmers around the Midwest efficiently store vital data about their crops at the click of a button. By 1995, Meyers was selling over 1,500 yield monitors every year, making them a standard part of farming equipment. After seeing this great success, he decided to expand his business to create a complete line of cutting edge farming equipment. Ag Leader Technology’s SMS software, one of the company’s many innovative products, creates a visual for farmers to build charts and reports for government reporting needs, including acres planted and harvest production. The system allows farmers to overlay yield maps with other field operations to determine how field activities affect yield. Today, Ag Leader is the leading name in precision agriculture and has grown to over 300 employees across the globe in North America, Europe, South America and Australia. By allowing farmers to discover yield influencers, visualize and share data, manage soil sample activities and download soil survey maps, Ag Leader takes farming technologies to a new level.
