Boehringer IngelheimThe following appeared in the March edition of the ISU Research Park Newsletter, written by Alison Doyle.

Despite chilly winter temperatures, construction of the new 52,000 square foot Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) research and development facility continues to progress on schedule. This building is located on the southeast corner of the ISU Research Park campus, on the south side of Airport Road and South Loop Drive. Installation continues on underground utilities, footings, and masonry walls. Structural steel was recently delivered and construction crews are placing the steel. The project is on schedule to be substantially complete by January 2016.

BI (formerly NOBL Laboratories, Inc) became an ISU RP tenant in 1991. BI’s Ames location has evolved from one employee to more than 50 today; the new space has the potential to accommodate more than 100 scientists who will research solutions for global animal health challenges. BI is responsible for many “industry firsts” in animal vaccines. It researches and produces vaccines and pharmaceuticals for swine, dogs, cats, equine and cattle. The new building will more than triple the company’s current laboratory footprint.
