Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) brings expertise in biological and pharmaceutical manufacturing to the Corridor through its pioneering research and production of vaccines and pharmaceuticals for swine, dogs, cats, equine and cattle. BIVI (formerly NOBL Laboratories, Inc.) has been located in the Corridor since 1991, when it became the first animal health firm at the Iowa State University Research Park. BIVI’s Ames location has evolved from one employee to more than 75 today. The company has recently completed construction on a signature 52,088-square-foot space at the Research Park which will accommodate more than 100 scientists finding solutions for global animal health challenges. The company calls the Corridor home in part thanks to access to Iowa State University, the National Animal Disease Center and the National Veterinary Services Laboratories – all located in Ames. BIVI also has sites in St. Joseph, MO., Fort Dodge and Sioux Center, Iowa.
