Chairman and CEO of Kent Corporation Joins Dean’s Advisory Council
The Iowa State University College of Business is pleased to announce the addition of Gage A. Kent, Chairman and CEO of Kent Corporation in Muscatine, to the Dean’s Advisory Council.
The Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC) was established in 1977 to develop a strong partnership between the business and academic communities. The council helps the College of Business strengthen its instructional, research, and outreach programs, improve its facilities, expand its base of support, and serve its alumni. The dean seeks the counsel and support of top-level corporate and public sector leaders in Iowa and on both the national and international scene.
Kent is a native of Muscatine and a 1983 graduate of Iowa State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Kent Corporation. Based in Muscatine, the company’s operating subsidiaries include Grain Processing Corporation (Corn Wet Milling); Kent Nutrition Group, Inc. (Animal Nutrition Products); Kent Pet Group, Inc. (Pet Products); Kent Precision Foods Group, Inc. (Seasonings and Dry Blended Foods); and The Sqwincher Corporation (Hydration Products).

Locally, he was a founding member (and past chairman) of the Muscatine Charities, Inc. Board of Directors; a past member (and past chairman) of the Board for the Muscatine Power and Water public utility; a past member (and past chairman) for the Greater Muscatine Chamber Economic Development Group as well as having chaired and been involved in the Muscatine Community Sheltered Workshop. He is also a member of various social and fraternal organizations, and an active philanthropist.
On the state level, Mr. Kent serves on the Board of Trustees of Simpson College, Indianola; is a member and former chair of the Board of Governors of the Iowa College Foundation; a member of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry; and a member of the Iowa Business Council. He is chairman of the Board of the Iowa Innovation Corridor, incoming chair of the Cultivation Corridor, and is also a member Emeritus of the Board of Governors of Iowa State University Foundation.
On the national level, Mr. Kent serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Manufacturers.
