Kent Corporation is a family operated business. Headquartered in Muscatine, Iowa, Kent Corporation employs 1,600 people through multiple operating subsidiaries including Grain Processing Corporation (GPC), Kent Nutrition Group (KNG), Kent Pet Group (KPG) and Kent Precision Foods Group. Kent Corporation is an expert in the production of animal feeds, manufacturing food products and corn wet milling. GPC creates corn-based products such as alcohol, corn starches, maltodextrins and corn oil. KNG is known for its advanced manufacturing of animal feed and nutrition products for commercial animals. KPG manufactures a wide variety of products for cats and dogs which are shipped to over 15 countries. Kent Precision Food Group is a dry-blending and packaging food company specializing in providing high-quality products for customers in the foodservice, industrial and consumer products businesses. Their products include salad dressings, frozen desserts, home canning mixes, sauce and seasoning blends, gravies and instant food thickening products.

The first Kent Corporation product was Kent Baby Beef, the first cattle feed composed entirely of high-quality protein without filler material in 1927.
In 1943, GPC was created with government financing. The firm built a grain alcohol manufacturing plant to supply the synthetic rubber program of World War II. GPC later purchased the plant in 1953.
In August of 2016, Kent Corporation acquired PouchTech Industries, a privately held food and liquid packaging company based in Foley, Minnesota.
