Nate Green serves as Director, Corporate Business Development & Senior Corporate Counsel for Renewable Energy Group (REG), North America’s largest producer of advanced biofuels. He manages business development at REG, leading the evaluation and development of new technologies, products, investments, and acquisitions. He also serves as a senior attorney for REG, with responsibility for project finance, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, commercial transactions, and international operations. Prior to REG, Mr. Green was Vice President of Transactions at Washington DC-based McBee Strategic Consulting, with a practice focused on clean technology and renewable energy project finance and strategic partnerships, including projects in biofuels, biochemicals, solar, wind, and electric vehicles. He also worked at two Iowa law firms, which included work on wind energy and biofuels projects. In addition to the Cultivation Corridor, Mr. Green serves on the board of directors of the Iowa Biotechnology Association, and Sigma Phi Epsilon, Iowa Gamma.
Mr. Green is a member of the Iowa Bar Association and holds a JD, highest honors, from the University of Iowa College of Law. As a Fulbright Fellow to The Netherlands, Mr. Green earned an MA in Political Science from Leiden University and conducted research at the International Criminal Court. He holds a BA, highest distinction, from the University of Iowa. Mr. Green is an Iowa native, originally from Fort Dodge, where his family still owns a century farm. He now resides in Ankeny with his family of four.
