Ames technology companies honored at Prometheus Awards

The Technology Association of Iowa and LWBJ Financial hosted the 10th annual Prometheus Awards on April 16, honoring Iowa companies and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and excellence in technology.
Over 800 technology professionals were in attendance at the Des Moines event, which showcased Iowa’s brightest successes and innovative thinkers in the high-tech industry. Many of the companies honored reside within the Corridor, with Ames companies winning six of the 13 award categories.
Workiva was named Software Company of the Year. Workiva is the creator of Wdesk, a cloud-based platform used by companies to collect, manage, report and analyze business data in real time.
Xpanxion was selected as the Large/Enterprise Technology Company of the Year and IT Service Provider of the Year. Xpanxion provides custom software development, testing and consulting services to more than 65% of the Fortune 500 companies and 65% of the Fortune 100 companies.
Harrisvaccines was chosen as the Small/Medium Technology Company of the Year as well as Best User of Technology. The biotech/animal health company, who has undergone significant growth in the past year, uses RNA particle technology to produce safe, efficient and effective animal vaccines. The company was a finalist for five other award categories, including Top Growth Company of the Year, CEO of the Year (Hank Harris), CIO/CTO/CSO of the Year (Mark Mogler), Break Out Award and Life Sciences Company of the Year.
Life Sciences Company of the Year was awarded to NewLink Genetics, a pharmaceutical company focused on delivering, developing and commercializing immunotherapies to enhance treatment options for cancer.
Ames company, Global VetLINK, was also a finalist for Small/Medium Technology Company of the Year.
