CULTIVATION CORRIDOR, IOWABIO TO ANNOUNCE IOWA BIOTECH LEADERSHIP AWARD AT PARTNERING FOR GROWTH EVENT

DES MOINES — Jan. 22nd, 2016 – Iowa Biotechnology Association (IowaBio) Executive Director Joe Hrdlicka and Cultivation Corridor Executive Director Brent Willett announced the Cultivation Corridor is teaming up with IowaBio to name a Cultivation Corridor “Iowa Biotech Leadership Award” recipient at this year’s Partnering For Growth forum.

The award will be presented to an individual who in the past year has demonstrated the following traits and commitment to advancing Iowa’s biotech industry:

Leadership – The individual has a leading role in their organization and within the industry.

Innovation – The individual has consistently demonstrated an ability to bring innovative biotechnology products and/or services to the marketplace.

Advocacy – The individual works effectively with other business and public policy leaders to promote and advance the biotech industry in Iowa.

The recipient is determined by a committee of individuals with roles in Iowa’s biotechnology industry. The recipient will be named at a reception beginning at 5 p.m. to close out IowaBio’s Partnering For Growth event. NOMINATIONS FOR THE AWARD WILL BE ACCEPTED HERE THROUGH FRIDAY, FEB. 19th.

IowaBio’s Partnering For Growth forum is the state’s “biotechnology summit” targeted to senior leaders in biotech who have funding, human resources, issues management, business development and research in their areas of responsibility. The event also attracts public leaders who lead programs assisting the biotech sector from a funding, regulatory or economic development perspective. Partnering For Growth features a series of educational presentations, track sessions and networking activities aimed at sharing best practices and opportunities for collaboration within the industry.

The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31st at the FFA Enrichment Center located at the DMACC campus in Ankeny at 1055 Southwest Prairie Trail Parkway. Interested participants may register www.iowabio.org/pfg.
