In a February 7 press release, Kemin Industries announced more than 600 Des Moines-based Kemin employees have officially moved in to their new worldwide headquarters building, located at 1900 Scott Avenue. The new 94,000 square-foot building represents a $30 million investment and is the final extension of the state-of-the-art Molecular Advancement Center Research Facility, which opened in July 2013. Overall, Kemin has invested $125.5 million in their Des Moines facilities.
“Our new global headquarters creates an inspiring and collaborative work environment for our employees,” said Dr. Chris Nelson, President and CEO of Kemin Industries. “At Kemin, we believe our employees are our most valuable asset, and we are excited to see the innovation that sparks from bringing all of our teams under one roof.”
Kemin has other expansion projects in the works, including regional headquarters in Russia and in South Africa, as well as an encapsulation manufacturing facility in Des Moines.
“Our dedication to investing and growing in the Des Moines community, and around the world, provides the resources our teams need to move our vision forward of improving the quality of life by touching half the people of the world every day with our products and services,” said Nelson.
The official grand opening of the Des Moines worldwide headquarters will be held this August.
