National Ag Day 2020
National Ag Day 2020 comes at a challenging and overwhelming time for all of us. On behalf of America’s Cultivation Corridor staff and investors, our thoughts are with those who are suffering from impacts of the COVID-19 virus, as well as those medical professionals and first responders on the front lines in this outbreak.
We also recognize everyone involved in every aspect of producing, delivering, preparing, and serving food. While we may see occasional empty shelves, we are still fortunate to have the world’s safest, most abundant and affordable food supply. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen increased flexibility in how food is available – online ordering, delivery, curbside pickup, special shopping hours, etc. — to meet changing requirements and needs during the COVID-19 outbreak.
These adaptations to make food available in difficult times is just the latest in the long list of innovations that farmers and agriculture and food industry professionals have adopted over the decades to improve the efficiency and sustainability of our food production system.
Iowa plays a leadership role in the development and commercialization of new technologies and solutions in agriculture. Our central location, forward-thinking farmers, and entrepreneurial ecosystem encourages new ideas and provides a pathway for problem solvers to bring those ideas to real-world success.
As we celebrate National Ag Day, we thank Cultivation Corridor investors, stakeholders, and volunteers for your work in helping share stories of innovation in Iowa and making the connections with the world’s agricultural leaders who come here to collaborate and innovate.
