Dan Culhane, CEcD, CCE, is the President & CEO of the Ames Chamber of Commerce and the Ames Economic Development Commission, a position he assumed in April of 2006.He is a 1993 Graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Community and Regional Planning and an emphasis in economic development. Dan is a 1998 Graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. He earned his CEcD (Certified Economic Developer) on his first attempt in Dallas, Texas at the 2000 American Economic Development Council’s Annual Conference. He earned the Chamber industry’s highest designation, the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE), in 2011. Dan serves on the boards of the United Way of Story County and is currently the Vice-President of the ISU Letterwinner’s Club, and was recently named the Chairman of the Iowa Chamber Alliance – a coalition of the state’s largest community’s Chambers of Commerce. He is a past Chairman of the Professional Developers of Iowa, as well as past Chairman of the Mid America Economic Development Council – a ten state peer group from Ohio to the Dakota’s.
