Leadership insights from Todd Frazier, board chair of America's Cultivation Corridor.
Milestones invite reflection, but the best ones also spark momentum. I saw that firsthand on April 20 at the 100th anniversary celebration of Pioneer® brand seed at Corteva’s Global Seed Business Center in Johnston, Iowa. About 1,500 colleagues, retirees and industry leaders, along with thousands joining virtually around the world, came together to recognize 100 years of innovation, collaboration and commitment to farmer success.
While this was a great celebration of the past, it was also a great celebration of what lies ahead. A robust pipeline of innovation is positioned to help farmers meet growing global demands while using resources more efficiently. Across Iowa, more than 3,000 Corteva employees remain committed to Wallace’s original belief that better seed, powered by science and shared purpose, can transform agriculture.
We also see that forward-looking mindset in companies, organizations and farms across Iowa. Strong talent and partnerships, agricultural leadership and a commitment to progress make it a place where businesses don’t just start, they thrive.
Iowa’s unique combination of unparalleled agricultural production, world-class research and entrepreneurial spirit make it the best place to not only develop an idea, but to test, grow and scale it. Just as Henry A. Wallace and the early team at Hi-Bred Corn Company built what became the global leader Pioneer Hi-Bred on Iowa soil, today’s founders and entrepreneurs are bringing the next generation of solutions (with global impact) to reality, right from Iowa labs and fields.
