Daisy Brand Breaks Ground on $1.2B Boone Dairy Processing Plant

Boone will be the site of a giant dollop of Daisy, as the company ceremonially broke ground May 20 on a $1.2 billion dairy processing facility.

Daisy Brand, which produces sour cream and cottage cheese as well as several other dairy-based products, expects to open its 1 million square foot facility in 2028. The plant is expected to offer 255 jobs with an average hourly wage of $34.75.

The Boone plant, which will be built in the town's industrial park on the eastern outskirts of town, is Daisy Brand’s “most ambitious project yet,” said president Ben Sokolsky, a fifth-generation member of the family-owned business, during the groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, May 20 at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites in Boone.
