Leadership insights from Kevin Rasmussen, Chair of America's Cultivation Corridor and member of Iowa Pork Producers Association
Planting season is one of my favorite times of year. As farmers, we spend several months planning for the year ahead — reviewing last year’s data, selecting seeds and other inputs, planning conservation practices for each field and getting equipment ready. It is exciting to see equipment in fields after a long winter and the potential that a new growing season brings.
This year, farmers face a number of uncertainties in the marketplace, but one thing remains certain – we will continue to find ways to be more productive, efficient and sustainable as we produce the crops to feed, fuel, and provide energy for our country and beyond. In fact, we’ve often seen that innovation advances even more quickly when times are uncertain.
Exciting things are happening across the state, with entrepreneurs and companies of all sizes innovating and investing in the future of agriculture and biosciences.
As a producer, I’m proud that Iowa continues to lead and there is still no better place to grow a company or bring a new idea to life than America’s Cultivation Corridor.
