Todd Frazier, chair of America’s Cultivation Corridor board of directors, issued the following statement regarding the May 3, 2026, passage of a comprehensive water quality funding package by Iowa leaders.

“The passage of a comprehensive water quality funding package in the Iowa Legislature is an important milestone in achieving water quality improvements across our state.

We applaud Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, Iowa Senate and House leaders, and everyone who developed this package to support water quality infrastructure from “field to faucet” and spark innovative solutions statewide. The package will make available $138 million in funding and $319 million in water quality investments over the next 12 years. It includes financial assistance for small and mid-size communities to upgrade water treatment facilities, funding for urban and rural conservation projects, and a $25 million grant to Central Iowa Water Works to expand infrastructure and increase nitrate removal capacity over the next three years.

America’s Cultivation Corridor represents leading organizations across Iowa’s food and agriculture value chain and we continue to support innovation that drives better, more sustainable solutions. We look forward to collaboration between Iowa’s farmers, scientists, community leaders, and business leaders to make meaningful progress in improving water quality and supporting the sustainability, quality of life, and health of our state.”
