Leadership insights from Kevin Rasmussen, Chair of America's Cultivation Corridor and member of Iowa Pork Producers Association

As farmers across Iowa wrap up another fall harvest, our attention naturally turns to what’s next. We plan, prepare and invest for the future, because in agriculture, every season begins with the belief that tomorrow can be even better than today.

That same mindset comes to mind as I near the end of my term as chair of America’s Cultivation Corridor board of directors in January. It has been my honor to serve with a strong group of leaders across our state’s agriculture and bioscience industries. I am proud of the work we’ve done, and I am even more excited about the future.

That confidence in the future starts with the strength of our leadership.

In Iowa, leaders matter. Here, leaders show up, they work together and they drive change. From Iowa State University to global companies and from farmer organizations to community economic development teams, we’ve seen time and time again that the difference lies in people who choose collaboration over competition and long-term vision over short-term wins.

I look forward to continuing to serve on the Corridor board and working together across agriculture and bioscience sectors to meet the needs of a growing world population in a sustainable way.
